Most people thing they're safe as long as they're not physically connected a network, thanks to Wi-fi (and many other wireless data transfer methods) that's no longer true. And even when we want to connect to a local computer or network we prefer wi-fi over as it IS very convenient. Just a few minutes ago I came across this article about Wi-fi sniffing which makes it so necessary to test our frequently used mobile apps for these kinds of vulnerabilities.
